To kick-off a unit about the Great Depression, students in U.S. History played the stock market. Students tried to game the system and make out rich. Some succeeded while many others didn't. It was a fun way to get out of our seats and moving around!
In Sue Ann's Humanities class we've been studying Greek mythology. While studying the story of Pandora's box students created their own version of the box. It was designed to entice others to want to open the box to see what was inside.
Inside are a modern versions of the woes and grief of modern day. And if course, hope!Recently in Elinda's English classes, students used children's books to review parts of a story before analyzing story lines in movies.
Last week students in Intro to Anthropology learned about how different environments can impact human preservation by conducting a mummification lab. Students recreated conditions in bogs, glaciers, and deserts, as well as the processes of Egyptian and Chinchorro mummification.
