LHS Thanksgiving 2019

Submitted by chelsie.young on

Last week our Landmark Family celebrated Thanksgiving together. This is a proud and cherished tradition at our school. It is a special time for us to be together and enjoy good food, good company, and recognize all we have to be thankful for.

This year we had some special guests join us from the Spanish Fork Police Department!

Holiday Service in the Greenhouse

Submitted by chelsie.young on

Time really flies by, especially if you are having fun in service of someone. That's exactly what the great students at Landmark High School are up to. Previously a service project collecting soda cans and tops for the Ronald McDonald House was a smashing success. ...Now a new opportunity in the works just in time for the holidays. A service project to lighten the hearts of service men and women, thanking them for all they do and have done.

What We're Learning: Zoology

Submitted by chelsie.young on

Last week, students in Cope's Zoology class researched and produced a model of a tapeworm from the phylum Platyhelminthes. The length matches that of a tapeworm recovered from a whale - over 30 meters (almost 100 feet!)- and includes such information as their ability to produce tens to hundreds of thousands of eggs per day!

Veteran's Assembly

Last week, students, faculty, and staff gathered at our flag pole for our annual Veteran's Day program. As per tradition, LHS staff, faculty, former students, and family members who served our country are honored as we retire our flag and unfurl a new one.
