Mama G is a new teacher to Landmark this year. She teaches Greenhouse, Leadership Principles, and Floriculture. Before teaching at Landmark she taught AG classes at Springville High School. She has been teaching for 13 years now. After this school year, it will be 14 years.

She grew up in the small town of Erda. She is the youngest of 5 siblings. She and her family lived on a dairy farm. She absolutely loved it!!! She says her parents taught her a lot growing up. They taught her hard work, compassion, and her love for agriculture. The strongest influence in life was her Grandma Joy. She was her best friend, and she was a fighter. She was a widow at 30. She had a stroke at 50 and later learned to talk and walk again. Her grandma was also very caring and funny.

Mama G doesn’t have a most embarrassing moment. She doesn’t get embarrassed easily. She has learned to laugh at herself and all the dumb things she does. Her friends would describe her as “driven, loyal, and forgiving.” The accomplishment she is most proud of is her 2 children. She says, “ They have grown into very successful and wonderful adults.”

Mama G’s biggest obstacle was when she broke her leg 2 ½ years ago. She was in a wheelchair for 3  months. It was very challenging for her mentally and physically. She learned a lot from her experience with it. Currently, she is happy with who she is so she doesn’t stress it too much. She wants to improve on her personal health. In 5-10 years Mama G sees herself as a grandma… hopefully!!! Something she sees in her vision for the future is grandbabies and flowers!
