At the beginning of each school year, faculty from around the district come together to hear a positive, empowering message to kick off the new school year. This year's speaker and message was one of the best I've been to; which is really saying something. Author and speaker Kevin Brown shared with us the idea and message of putting forth a H.E.R.O.'s effort. A HERO:
This spring, our greenhouse program planted veggies. Landmark students, led by Greenhouse Specialist Mike Allen cultivated peppers, pumpkins, tomatoes, onions, and much more. Summer school continued the efforts to make sure the plants thrived. This fall over 300 pounds of produce have been harvested so far. All of which were donated to Provo soup kitchens.
Landmark has 5 Vital Behaviors; Attendance, Productivity, Postitive Attitude, Cooperation, and Respect. These behaviors have been identified as crucial for student success; not only in achieving their school goals, but in all areas of life.

Attendance: Nathan Hayes
This week in Matt Cope's Biology class, students participated in a Concept Attainment activity. Concept Attainment is an inquiry learning strategy where students investigate group or category by comparing and contrasting samples.
Cope's lesson asked students to identify the traits and properties of macromolecules. This strategy helps students make connections between what they already know and what they will be learning.
As faculty and staff from the Landmark/Cornerstone family returned from summer break, Administrators prepared a series of team-building activities. These activities tested their stamina, mental acumen, team-building skills, and familiarity with Landmark's Vital Behaviors.
