OUTRAGE! of Utah County is Looking for Youth Leaders

Submitted by jenett.houghton on

The Utah County Health Department has a great job opportunity for youth in our county. Utah County has an anti-tobacco youth group called OUTRAGE! and we are looking to hire two more youth leaders to help run the youth group. The position is from May 2017 to May 2018. It will require 3 to 10 hrs a week depending what we have going on. They need to be available Thursday evenings for meetings and various weekends for events. The youth must be at least 16 years old and also be willing to perform compliance checks as well. Compliance checks are when a youth, a police officer and an employee of the Utah County Health Department go into the community and the youth attempts to buy tobacco products. This is done for educational purposes and our goal is for the youth to NOT get sold to. We want the clerk to check their ID and turn them away. This youth must also NOT be currently using any illegal substances including tobacco and nicotine products.  The youth needs to have the application turned in by May 5th to be considered for an interview and the application is in the counseling office.
