Dear Nebo District Families:

Thank you for your tremendous help and support in completing a successful 1 st Term. It is truly remarkable that all of our schools remained open, while our students received quality At-School and Remote Learning instruction. We continue to work to improve our practices, and we appreciate your continued understanding and support.

As we move forward, please be mindful of the following:

  • Like the rest of the state, including Utah County, the number of COVID-19 cases among Nebo students and staff is on the rise.  Nebo updates the school case counts on our website each Monday and will post additional updates during the week if there are significant case count increases.

  • We will continue our current schedule of holding school all five days of the week (M-F), with 45-minute early dismissal, for the remainder of the school year. This schedule will only be adjusted at individual schools that have increased case counts which require modified schedules for a period of time. As our high school families already know, we always notify families at any individual school that may be moving to the "Alternating Day Schedule."

  • Three of our high schools now have COVID-19 case counts of 15+ and will be moving to the "Alternating Day Schedule" for the next two weeks. These families have already been notified and will receive updates about their schedule status from their principal. Details about the "Alternating Day Schedule" can be found at www.nebo.edu/coronavirus.

  • The bulk of confirmed COVID-19 cases in our schools and communities continue to come from social and family interactions outside of school .  Please follow safety guidelines outside of the school setting: limit gatherings to household-only, practice physical distancing, and wear a mask when physical distancing is not possible.

  • Please stay home  when sick or when waiting for COVID-19 test results. We have a surprising number of students who have been quarantined because an ill student or one who is awaiting results has come to school.

  • We will continue to restrict student field trips and out-of-state travel. Student travel is limited to Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) sponsored activities held within the state.

  • UHSAA will announce Winter Sports Guidelines in the coming days.

If Winter Sports are permitted, guidelines are likely to include: regular COVID-19 testing of student-athletes and advisors/coaches, fan attendance limited to parents/guardians of student-athletes, mandatory mask wearing and physical distancing of all attendees, and other safety protocols.

  • The " Open Restricted Meal Program" provides free breakfast and lunch to all students enrolled in Nebo School District. This program has now been extended through the end of the school year and will end May 28, 2021. Meal pick up procedures for remote and kindergarten students will remain the same. Please contact your school if you have any questions.

We look forward to a successful 2 nd Term and invite everyone to "Be SMART" to help keep us in school and involved with school activities:
Stay home  when sick or when waiting for COVID-19 test results
Maintain clean spaces
Advocate for distancing when possible
Remember your mask
Train on hygiene and safety
