Landmark High School Honors Alumni

On November  2, 2010 during Landmark High School’s annual mix it up assembly the faculty and students honored alumnus Paul Bawden for the motivational sculpture he created for the school during the new schools construction.  We were all honored to have him come and say a few words of inspiration.

Paul Bawden is a former LHS student himself who graduated in 2006 with a growing love for sculpting.  Paul had college in his sights but found issues prevented him from going right away, so he went back to work creating something to help get him a sculpting commission project.  He took the idea of the dragon sculpture to Joe Kelly Principal of LHS and suggested that the district could be willing to fund a dragon mascot for the new school which has just been announced.

Paul joined the United State Marine Corps right away and trained for Battle Tank Crewman.  He loved serving his country and adding to the long tradition his family has.  As a reservist in the Marine Corps, Paul has been able to serve his country and to pursue his dream in a sculpting career.

Paul made the Dragon for Landmark High School and the Sky Hawk for Salem Hills High School.  Paul also sculpted a Memorial Bald Eagle that is on display in Willard Utah.  Paul is now working for the Springville Art Museum as the sculpture repair specialist and has been doing very well.  Congratulations Paul for the example that you have set for the students of Landmark High School.
