The Nebo School Board of Education appointed Mrs. Kelly Cole Taylor as the Assistant Principal of Landmark High for Nebo School District.

Mrs. Taylor received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Utah State University, an Educational License in History, Geography, Reading, and ESL Endorsements as well as her master’s degree in Education Administration all from Southern Utah University.

Currently, Mrs. Taylor serves as the Dean of Students for Landmark High for the past two years. She taught history at Springville Junior for one year; history, World Civilizations, and geography at Diamond Fork Junior for eleven years; and math, communications, and social studies at Spanish Fork Middle for six years.

Kelly received the Crystal Apple Award in 2017, Service PTA Award in 2012, and the Diamond Fork Teacher of the Year Award in 2009.

“I have a lifelong love for learning and inspiring others to contribute to the world around them,” stated Mrs. Taylor. “I appreciate the support and professional growth I have experienced and look forward to encouraging and providing educators and students with similar opportunities for continued improvement.”

A colleague said, “Kelly is a strong advocate for her students and their success. She works daily with students, parents, and staff on a myriad of issues and concerns and does it extremely well. Kelly has personal integrity, exceptional flexibility, and excellent communication skills. She is a tremendous administrator.”

When asked about her feelings, Kelly said, “I so appreciate the support of my family, and I appreciate the great friends I have made through education. I have been taught by caring, passionate teachers in this district and I have had the privilege to be led by talented leaders, who empowered me with opportunities to learn and grow in the profession.

“While I believe happiness is a decision, Ralph Waldo Emerson said, ‘The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.’ I appreciate that Nebo District has entrusted me with these opportunities to live well.”

Kelly enjoys time with family and friends, cooking, reading, traveling, making stained glass, and gardening. She is married to Scott Taylor.
