Once again Landmark Dragons are busier than ever. Poinsettias are on schedule finishing touches are made. Now we just watch them grow.

A new project started 1st week of September with lessons on floral arranging, succulent gardening and propagating. Each student learned all about succulents, water, light and fertilizing and  how to propagate them from stem cuttings, leaf cuttings or root division.

We talked about designing a dish garden, texture, color, height, tone, width, and growth habits. Also an element of design they learned was using terms such as thriller, spiller, and filler. To help in placement and balance. Fun times for all planting dish gardens.

The students also propagated 512 new plant starts in just a few days. Next year’s crop is already in production- wow! Way to go Dragons! So finishing off our 2nd week of September, an anonymous donor gave us several bags of aluminum cans to pull tabs off and smash. The students pulled off 250 tabs and smashed the same number of cans to donate to the cancer foundation.
