In spite of many days of heavy smoke from the fires burning around us, the Landmark Dragons are moving forward faster than ever. They did stop for a day and help out with a service project. An ooportunity to donate they tops of pop cans to the Ronald McDonald House, cans were donated and the Dragons made quick work removing the tabs from the cans and smashing them. One of our own facultymembers' family will directly benefit from this as their family members recieve cancer treatment. What a great way to be a dragon?

The Dragons are quickly making cuttings of a variety of plants to supply the greenhouse with all kinds of vines, flowers, and grasses that will be used for next year's production of baskets, planters, etc. We sell to the public in the springtime. This is a great way to save on costs related to our greenhouse production. Also, it is a great opportunity to learn propagating skills.

Another project recently finished is the donation of seeds packet to the greenhouse. Vegetables, perrenials, and flower seeds of all kinds. There were separated by variety and cataloged for use immediately for spring planting. Many varities of perrentials were sown to winter over, making them reading for bloom next year.

October came so quickly at Landmark. Heavy rains did not stop the final harvest of all the planter boxes outside the greenhouse. Tomatoes, peppers, strawberries, all were gathered before the frost comes. Clean up and maintenance of the garden area is vital, preparing it once again for spring planting. What a great group of kids eager to pull up vines, clean-up, and drain water lines.

As a side note: Poinsettias are turning red and succulent dish gardens are selling nicely. Many more already for the upcoming holiday season. Great job Dragons!
