American Red Cross at Landmark High School

Student, staff and others outside of the school are more than welcome to come and donate blood here at landmark high school. The reason for coming to the gym of landmark is to donate blood. The hospitals are desperate in need of blood, the supply is low and that is not good. Students if you donate or are interested in helping out with the blood drive you can graduate with what they call the red cords. Red cords are just a day that you helped out with a blood drive at your school and that looks good on a resume.

Whoever wants to give blood to help out in the future, please go and see Alesha Lemmon or Cailea Ferrea.  Don’t feel bad if you missed out on the first one there will be more and if you aren’t sure that you want to give blood, please talk to someone who has donated and get their side of the story. We would really appreciate all the help we can get.

Giving blood isn’t that bad, you are in great hand and you will be taken care of. If you sign up to help with the blood drive you stand by the table in the gym were the papers and information is and help the students, staff or pavilions that come in.

I can tell you about my feelings of the first blood drive, I was scared, I end up passing out because I didn’t eat and man that didn’t feel good. I was sick the next day, but in the end I felt better. The reason why you would feel so well after you give blood is because you come to realize that you’re giving someone a chance at a better life or a second chance at living.  Also to help someone in need you just feel so strong. If you have a rare blood type please think extra more on donating

Please make sure you eat a big meal and drink lots of water before you go and donate, because if you don’t you can get sick or pass out and passing out is not a good thing. So don’t slack off eating!
