Save the Kids free Parent Education Night sponsored by Nebo School District 

All invited to the #savethekids free Parent Education Night sponsored by Nebo School District on November 5, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Springville High audirorium at 1205 East 900 South in Springville, Utah.

Collin Kartchner and Dr. Katey McPherson will lead a discussion on:

  • Balancing screen time and device use,
  • Protecting and cultivating our children's self worth,
  • Devising a sensible family use of device plan.

What we're Learning: Humanities

In Sue Ann's Humanities class we've been studying Greek mythology. While studying the story of Pandora's box students created their own version of the box. It was designed to entice others to want to open the box to see what was inside. 

Inside are a modern versions of the woes and grief of modern day. And if course, hope!

What we're Learning: Anthropology

Last week students in Intro to Anthropology learned about how different environments can impact human preservation by conducting a mummification lab. Students recreated conditions in bogs, glaciers, and deserts, as well as the processes of Egyptian and Chinchorro mummification.

Learning new skills at lunch

Since the beginning of Term 1 Math Teacher Harry Miyagi has had students learning Japanese, Web Design and Computer Repair in his classroom during lunch. David Schlenker and Ethan Edwards have been learning Japanese.  They can read hiragana and katakana.  Basic manga and are working on learning Kanji. Giovanni Gonzalez has been learning Web Design.  He has learned Adobe Photoshop and started learning Adobe Dreamweaver.  He has done some excellent work with Photoshop layering and editing photos. Johby Meyer has been troubleshooting broken computers.  They
