March Students of the Month
Landmark works to instill 5 Vital Behaviors that will keep our students on the pathway to success, no matter what they choose to do with their lives. To promote these behaviors, we award Student of the Month accolades to 5 students who have excelled at one or more of these behaviors.
For the month of March those students are the following:
What we're learning: Anatomy
Last week in Emily's anatomy classes, students examined the structures of pig hearts to better understand human anatomy.
Landmark Earns District's Hashtag Award
Congratulations to Landmark High School, in Nebo School District, and their school PR team for earning the Nebo #Hashtag Award. This award is given to the school that communicates to their parents and students, in a variety of ways, the events and important news items happening at school.
Shakespeare in the Schools!
The Utah Shakespeare Festival is once again hitting the road with its Shakespeare-in-the-Schools touring production – this year performing one of the world’s first psychological thrillers, William Shakespeare’s Macbeth.
An evening performance for everyone is this Tuesday, April 16, at 7:30 at Springville High School, 1205 East 900 South, Springville, UT. Another performance will be held on Monday, April 15, at 3:30 p.m. at Spanish Fork High, 300 West 99 North, Spanish Fork. And, admission is free.
Landmark Students Visit Bottega Coding School
Jenett-School Counselor and Eric-Workplace Skills Teacher took a small group of Landmark students to Bottega in Lehi. Bottega is an HTML/CSS/Javascript/React training school that offers flexible and intensive programs to get individuals prepared for a career in technology. Students took a tour of the classrooms and were able to speak with representatives about what it takes to be successful in the industry. They were able to experience the laid back environment, which included computers (of course), bean bags, a soda machine and a small gym!
Janna Manookin named LHS Classified Employee of the Year!
Janna is an Education Technician at LHS. She works in the Student Support Center and is excellent and building relationships with students and helping them learn that they are capable and can succeed if they will put in the work:
What we're learning: Anthropology
Last term, Chelsie's Anthropology students finished up their learning by conducting an Archaeological Dig.
What we're learning: Foods
Students in our schools Foods I class had the opportunity to learn about how to avoid cross contamination by making street tacos.
Parent Teacher Conferences
We will be having Parent Teacher Conferences this Thursday, March 28th from 3:00-7:30.
