History students got a taste of what it was like to arrive in the United States as an immigrant at the turn of the century. Chelsie and Chelsey had their students fill out forms, undergo medical examinations, legal inspections, and even test to determine their mental fitness before admittance into the country. The activity involved lots of waiting, paperwork, exams, more waiting, crowding, more forms to fill out, and then a ruling on their ability to make the US their home. Would you make the cut?

Belated congratulations are in order for the Dragons of the Month for Mini-term 2! The winners are:

Members of the Landmark family joined together to honor US Veterans and remember their sacrifice. The students, staff, and faculty gathered at the front of the school on November 11th to learn from, and pay tribute to, those who have served our country. After the assembly, the group observed the retirement ceremony and disposal of a worn flag. A new flag was then raised on the flagpole. To veterans at Landmark past and present, thank you for your service!

Well, you would if you'd been in foods class today! Chef Molen and her class fired up the ovens and made some tasty treats.

Design the Yearbook Cover!

Students - we are looking for this year's yearbook cover and you may be the one to design it! Get your creative genius on and submit your artwork for the cover by NOVEMBER 23 to either Carrie or SueAnn. The winning design earns a $50 Amazon Gift Card and a little piece of immortality. Did you know that one in three children currently live in a stepfamily? This includes many of the children within the Nebo school district. Utah State University's "Healthy Relationships Utah" has developed a program specifically for this underserved population and we'd love your help spreading the word. Smart Steps is a free, research-based curriculum that parents can attend virtually or in person. 

Have you ever seen a 4 chip pile-up in a vending machine? Luckily Lynn Steele and these students were able to rescue the crunchy treats with some teamwork and ingenuity! 

The PBS KIDS Reading Marathon is taking place during the month of November. Children (ages preschool - 6th grade) are encouraged to read 20 minutes per day or 600 minutes total throughout the month. From December 1-15 parents will then go on to our PBS website and log their minutes for AMAZING prizes around town during 2022!
